Non-profit and faith based organizations operate on tight budgets but still need support for their computer systems. Boomarang understands this and has created a Non-profit Information Technology Assistance program (NITA) to help these organizations.
Traditionally, non-profits have tight budgets and cannot afford to hire qualified professionals to manage an effective Information Security program. Non-profits are in possession of all types of financial & personal information such as bank accounts, credit cards, date of births and social security numbers, which if not properly handled can result in identity theft and potential lawsuits or fines.
The purpose of NITA is to give non-profits the tools to best protect their computer assets against data loss caused by equipment failure, viruses, sabotage or theft. The key to reducing risk of data loss or theft is to make it much more difficult for unauthorized persons to access sensitive information. Our research showed that most nonprofits are not using best practices so we developed a simple yet effective system that even the smallest organization can implement. We believe this system is critically important to protect the best interests and privacy of your stakeholders and show that due diligence and care is being exercised.
If you are a non-profit or faith-based organization (church, charity or community focused) you may qualify for valuable IT services at reduced or no-cost such as:
- online and onsite data backup/recovery service
- online and onsite technical support
- data security risk assessments, policies, procedures and documentation
- disaster recovery planning
- project management
- access to other resource assistance programs
The NITA program is made possible through the generosity of private investors, donors and our service partner eFolder. We are excited to share these resources which allow us to help worthy organizations become much safer and efficient by using eco-friendly data storage solutions that save time, money and stress. To qualify for the NITA program an organization must be IRS registered non-profit or a church with a physical building or a community development foundation. Small business are also encouraged to apply and are given consideration based on size and need.
